Position Summary
Seasonal Box Office Representatives support the Long Center team in delivering exceptional customer service throughout the holiday season; selling and processing admissions, skate rentals, group reservations, and other ice rink offerings, and supporting the box office with other ticketing needs and events as needed.
This role serves as a primary point of contact for guests; assisting with ticket purchases, answering questions, resolving customer concerns, and creating a positive experience for visitors of all ages through in-person, phone, and online sales. This position pays $16.50/hour and requires a flexible schedule with availability during peak periods, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include:
- Providing excellent customer service to guests in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Processing admission sales, skate rentals, group bookings, and special event transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handling cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions.
- Processing refunds, exchanges, and reservation changes in accordance with ice rink policies.
- Answering questions regarding public skating sessions, pricing, special events, group outings, and facility policies.
- Assisting guests with online purchases, reservations, waivers, and account inquiries.
- Maintaining knowledge of ice rink schedules, promotions, programs, and special events.
- Resolving guest concerns professionally and escalating issues as needed.
- Maintaining daily reconciliation reports and assisting with other box office reporting requirements.
- Supporting crowd management and guest flow during busy sessions, holidays, and special events.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming box office environment.
- Following all facility safety procedures, policies, and customer service standards.
- Supporting other events and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- One year of related customer service, retail, hospitality, recreation, or ticketing experience.
- Ability to multi-task and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and phone skills required, Tessitura or previous Box Office experience is a plus!
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus!
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other peak business periods.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires a significant amount of time standing and moving. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
