We’re looking for a creative Freelance Social Media Graphic Designer to join a Los Angeles-based social media and creative agency working with lifestyle, food and beverage, wine and spirits, wellness, and consumer brands.
This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes social media, keeps up with emerging creative trends, and knows how to translate brand identities into fresh, engaging content. You should understand how to create work that feels native to each platform while maintaining strong design quality and a distinctive brand voice.
You’ll collaborate with social, strategy, creator, and production teams across multiple brands, bringing ideas to the table and adapting comfortably to different aesthetics.
Engagement: Freelance / Part-Time
Availability: Approximately 20+ hours per week
Location: Remote, with availability to collaborate during Los Angeles working hours
Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience
Responsibilities
- Design social-first content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital channels.
- Create static posts, carousels, Story assets, graphic-led Reels, and typography treatments.
- Develop fresh creative concepts and executions within existing brand guidelines.
- Design client-facing strategy decks and presentations.
- Create pre-production decks, mood boards, shot lists, creative treatments, and visual references.
- Develop visually clear influencer and UGC creator briefs.
- Produce campaign, product launch, seasonal, and culturally relevant creative.
- Adapt and resize assets across platforms and formats.
- Use AI creative tools to support concept development and execution.
- Manage multiple projects, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines consistently.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio showcasing work created specifically for social media. Traditional branding, web, or print work alone will not meet this requirement.
- Advanced proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong working knowledge of AI creative tools and an interest in exploring new creative workflows.
- Excellent typography, composition, color, branding, and visual storytelling skills.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and platform-specific creative formats and trends.
- Ability to interpret briefs, contribute original ideas, and turn brand guidelines into engaging social content.
- Ability to work across multiple brand aesthetics while preserving each brand’s identity.
- Strong presentation and deck design skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organization, communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative and receptive to feedback.
- Availability for approximately 20+ hours per week, with overlap during Los Angeles working hours.
Nice to Have
- Experience with motion graphics, video editing, animation, or Adobe After Effects.
- Experience with food and beverage, wine and spirits, wellness, beauty, hospitality, or lifestyle brands.
- Previous experience working within a social media or creative agency.
