Spotawheel

Athens

In-house Legal Counsel.

FINANCE & LEGAL

We are changing the way people buy or lease cars, fixing the largely broken used cars sector.

Spotawheel, an Endeavor company, is a trusted high-tech used cars B2C platform that redesigned the whole buy-sell process from scratch, ensuring value, transparency and customer satisfaction at the highest levels throughout.

Launched in 2015, we are currently incorporated in 3 countries, growing aggressively towards our mission of disrupting the €500 billion European market. Spotawheel has been recognized as one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies for three consecutive years, 2021, 2022 & 2023, by the Financial Times.

Unlike traditional used car dealers, we rely on advanced proprietary technology to be much more efficient and effective in the way we work, being able to sustain top vehicle quality and customer experience at large scale.

Our people at Spotawheel are our driving force, trusting them to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations. We invest in our people first and foremost, so that we can create a culture of excellence, recognition and ethics that is above all fun to be a part of.

We are currently looking for an in-house Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team based in Athens.

This role combines corporate work, contract review, legal administration and coordination, and the management of the company's Collections / Legal Recovery matters, while working directly with management. It offers the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of the business and become the company' s main legal point of contact.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to:

  • Handle day-to-day corporate legal matters, including board and shareholder resolutions minutes and corporate records.
  • Prepare (based on Company templates) and review shareholders' agreements and other corporate documentation.
  • Review and negotiate lease agreements and contracts with suppliers, clients and investors/lenders.
  • Handle corporate governance matters, KYC and legal due diligence requests and processes.
  • Manage the signing and organization of legal documents, including electronic execution and record keeping.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors and manage their involvement in legal matters.
  • Handle the company's litigation and dispute resolution matters – litigation project management and coordination with Company’s external legal counsels for debt collection.
  • Provide ad-hoc legal guidance to the Collections team.
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to management and other teams within the company.
  • Maintain and develop legal templates, processes and records as required.
  • Act as the main point of contact for legal matters within the company and, where appropriate, with external parties.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 4-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in corporate law, with experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts in English and Greek.
  • Good knowledge of company law and corporate governance matters.
  • Experience with litigation, dispute resolution and debt/collections recovery matters (including court proceedings and enforcement) is highly valued; ability to work in cooperation with external legal counsel on such matters.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with English law would be considered an advantage.
  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload without day-to-day supervision.
  • Good judgment and attention to detail, with a practical approach to legal issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn the business and work closely with management and other teams.
  • Comfortable dealing with external lawyers, clients, suppliers, investors and lenders.

Benefits

  • A full-time position in a fast-growing company.
  • A varied in-house legal role with direct interaction with management and the wider business.
  • A friendly and collaborative working environment.
  • A competitive remuneration package and benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility as the company continues to grow.
