Welder.

REMOTE
We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success – and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions. Summary: As a Welder at nVent Management Company, you'll play a pivotal role in our ambitious manufacturing team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on innovative projects that contribute to world-class, inventive electrical solutions. Join us and become part of a team that values inclusion, collaboration, and flawless execution! What will you experience in this position: Acquire the specified electrode and insert it into a portable holder or thread consumable electrode wire through a portable welding gun. Connect cables from the welding unit to achieve specified amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as per the welding machine operations manual. Start the power supply to produce an electric current. Strike (form) arcs that generate heat to melt and deposit metal from the electrode to the workpiece, joining edges flawlessly. Manually guide the electrode or gun along the weld line. Maintain arc length and speed to form the specified depth of fusion and bead. Judge this by metal color, weld sound, and molten puddle size. Weld primarily in a flat position, while learning horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions, working mainly with lighter metal thicknesses. Examine welds for bead size and other specifications. Clean or degrease weld joints or workpieces. Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter. Assist in positioning and clamping workpieces together in jigs or fixtures. Tack assemblies together. Safely operate welding equipment such as handheld plasma cutters, torches, and grinders. Receive forklift operation certification. Handle materials using light-duty jib cranes. Build a workplace environment that is enjoyable, engenders pride in the product, focuses on the customer, and provides room for individual responsibilities and ideas. You have: One year certificate from college or technical school, or six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Schedule: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday. Fridays overtime, as needed. WE HAVE: A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
