JOB TITLE Adjunct Faculty - Art LOCATION Worcester DEPARTMENT NAME Humanities & Arts - JM DIVISION NAME Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Art to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises.  JOB DESCRIPTION The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Art. WPI’s Art faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate class, advanced technique seminars, and capstone practicums. The Art curriculum emphasizes visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling); art and architectural history; digital imaging and computer art; animation and game design, and video production. We are looking for outstanding artists/scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. A successful candidate should hold an appropriate terminal degree such as an MFA or a Ph.D. in an appropriate field. Specific topics and start dates will vary over the academic year. Qualified applicants from this applicant pool will be contacted as opportunities arise.
