We are looking for a Commis Chef, Pastry to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute, learn and grow while helping shape the experiences and impact we create across Costa Navarino.
Responsibilities
- Follow established recipes and preparation and presentation methods in line with hotel and departmental standards and the instructions of the Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine.
- Maintain good knowledge of the menu, ingredients, portion sizes and preparation and presentation methods, ensuring the correct preparation of hot and cold pastry dishes.
- Check refrigerators and storage areas daily, ensuring correct temperatures and the proper condition of perishable products, while taking preventive measures to minimize losses.
- Ensure that only fresh and suitable products are used, consulting the senior chef in case of any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and equipment, ensuring proper storage of perishable products at the end of each shift and reporting any issues or shortages to the senior chef.
- Follow Food Safety, HACCP and DIVERSEY standards, participate in training and mentoring provided by senior chefs, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in the sector, hotel, pastry shops, restaurants (preferably in an international 5*hotel chain)
- Pastry / culinary degree
- Ability to speak, write and converse freely in Greek and in English
- Compliance with the cleaning schedule
- Good hygiene knowledge and HACCP Standards
- High energy, ability to work under pressure, good organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
- Team cooperation skills
- Execution of recipes and tasks assigned by the direct supervisor
