Product Manager, Autonomous Laboratories.

REMOTEPRODUCT$163.6K–255.6K/YR
Job Description Laboratories are becoming increasingly connected, automated, and intelligent. As customers move toward autonomous laboratory environments, they need a coherent strategy that aligns instruments, software, automation, data, and workflows around their evolving scientific and business priorities. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager, Autonomous Laboratories to help define and deliver those solutions. This role will work directly with customers to understand their scientific workflows, technology environments, unmet needs, and future direction. You will translate those insights into product requirements and priorities, partnering across product, software, hardware, engineering, and innovation teams to shape solutions that address real customer problems. The role sits at the intersection of science, technology, customers, and product management and is intended for someone with deep expertise in a relevant scientific or technology domain who can connect that expertise to a broader autonomous-lab vision. What You'll Do Serve as a product leader for autonomous laboratory solutions within a specific scientific, laboratory, or technology domain. Engage directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, automation requirements, technology gaps, and emerging needs. Translate customer needs into clear product requirements, use cases, priorities, and solution concepts for product and engineering teams. Develop a deep understanding of the customer workflow, including how instrumentation, software, automation, data, and laboratory processes interact. Identify gaps in existing capabilities and opportunities where new products, integrations, or solutions could create differentiated customer value. Partner across software engineering, hardware engineering, R&D, product organizations, commercial teams, and innovation functions. Help shape product strategy and roadmaps that support the evolution toward increasingly automated and autonomous laboratories. Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential application within laboratory environments. Work across traditionally separate product areas to help create integrated, end-to-end customer solutions. Represent the voice of the customer throughout product development and prioritization. Build strong relationships with strategic customers and use those relationships to continuously test assumptions and refine product direction. Communicate product vision, customer requirements, priorities, and trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders. Qualifications Required Bachelor's or advanced degree in a scientific, engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience working within a relevant scientific, laboratory, instrumentation, automation, or technology domain. Demonstrated experience leading product strategy, portfolio direction, and strategic planning for complex technical products or solutions. Experience engaging directly with customers to identify unmet needs and translate those needs into product requirements. Strong understanding of how hardware, software, data, and workflows come together within complex technical environments. Ability to work effectively with engineering and R&D organizations and translate between customer, scientific, business, and technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives in a complex global organization. Strong strategic thinking coupled with the ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into actionable product direction. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills. Preferred Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. Experience with laboratory automation, integrated laboratory systems, scientific software, robotics, workflow automation, instrument connectivity, or data-driven laboratory environments. Experience developing solutions that combine physical instrumentation with software and automation. Experience working with highly technical customers in regulated, scientific, industrial, or R&D environments. Experience helping bring emerging technologies from concept or customer pilot into scalable commercial products. Understanding of AI-enabled scientific workflows or intelligent laboratory systems.
