Role Summary Wind River, an Aptiv company, is seeking an Associate Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team and contribute to cloud-native infrastructure solutions for next-generation edge computing and 5G environments. In this hands-on engineering role, you will develop, test, and improve software components used in highly distributed cloud platforms while building expertise in Kubernetes, OpenStack, container technologies, automation, and open-source development. Your Role Design, develop, and maintain software components using C, C++, and Python. Contribute to cloud platform components for edge and distributed computing environments. Support the integration, validation, testing, and automation of cloud infrastructure solutions. Troubleshoot software issues through debugging, root cause analysis, and automated testing. Collaborate with global engineering teams and participate in code reviews within an Agile development environment. Document technical solutions, designs, and implementation details while applying best practices for scalability, reliability, and software quality. Contribute to open-source and cloud-native technologies, including StarlingX, while continuously developing expertise in modern cloud infrastructure. Your Background Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong programming skills in C and C++, with experience using Python for scripting and automation. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software development methodologies, and debugging techniques. Understanding of Linux-based development environments and software development fundamentals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems. Ability to work effectively within collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical information clearly. Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, StarlingX, CI/CD, distributed systems, edge computing, telecommunications/5G, or open-source development is preferred. Why Join us? Compensation The compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000 CAD plus an annual incentive plan bonus. Compensation is determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities, and internal equity.
