We’re looking for a SAP Technology Engineer, serving as the architectural consultant and technical authority for the SAP Basis platform, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and cloud technologies. In this role, you will shape platform architecture and standards, guide the strategic direction of the SAP landscape, oversee managed service partners responsible for day-to-day operations, and evaluate new technologies to drive continuous improvement. Hands-on operational activities are primarily delegated to external partners. About the job Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Architecture & Technical Consulting: Define SAP Basis / platform architecture, standards, and roadmaps (S/4HANA, HANA, SAP BTP, cloud) and act as technical design authority for platform decisions. Advise projects and stakeholders; challenge the as-is and drive standardization, automation, and cost efficiency. Managed Service Partner Management (major): Steer managed service partners (SAP ECS, 3rd party MSP) that run day-to-day Basis operations; define, monitor, and enforce SLAs. Own governance, escalations, and accountability for delivery quality, and coordinate handovers, changes, and major incidents. Technology Evaluation & Innovation (major): Continuously scan, evaluate, and pilot new SAP, BTP, and cloud technologies, including AI-assisted operations and automation. Run PoCs and make adoption recommendations aligned with architecture and cost. Operational Oversight (minor): Provide 2nd/3rd-level guidance; routine hands-on Basis execution is delegated to managed service partners.
