Your mission Together with the team, you’re responsible for designing, developing, and validating Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) thin films and functional surfaces for cutting tools – aiming to identify new and effective ways to ensure the right material properties leading to high-performance during machining. Job responsibilities Focusing on the development of novel PVD coatings and surface pre- and post-treatment methods, you contribute with your expertise in projects regarding knowledge building and product development. Your background includes A master’s degree in engineering in chemistry, materials science, metallurgy or applied physics. We consider a PhD as highly valuable. As we’re a truly global organization, you need excellent written and verbal skills in English, while knowledge in Swedish is a plus. It’s a plus if you have A good understanding of the properties and processing of thin film coatings. Skills in advanced material characterization. An interest in, and previous experience from work with R&D centers or universities. Experience of using DFT or similar modelling and simulation methods.
