Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech? Vishay, Yankton, SD, is currently seeking a full-time Product/Process Engineer to perform engineering of specific products from design inception to finished product, including manufacturing process and controls under general direction of the Engineering Section Supervisor. Job Location: We’re located southwest of downtown Dover which is the largest city in the New Hampshire Seacoast region, the oldest permanent settlement in New Hampshire, and the seventh oldest in the U.S.A. We’re less than seven miles from the main campus of UNH, and another fun fact is that Dover even is the birthplace of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. What you will be doing: As a Process Engineer, you will support manufacturing operations by developing, improving, and sustaining production processes, equipment, and test methods. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers to improve product performance, yield, efficiency, and reliability. Key responsibilities include: Analyze internal product failures, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, test systems, equipment, and product failures. Analyze production and test data to ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications while driving improvements in yield and process capability. Program, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, including winding, test, and environmental systems. Conduct forensic analysis of customer returns, perform root cause investigations, and prepare formal customer reports. Develop and implement new test methods, fixtures, and hardware to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput. Lead and support prototype-to-production transitions while promoting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Control and manage routine to moderately complex engineering projects from concept through implementation. Develop project plans, lead project meetings, and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiatives. Recommend improvements to manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and processes. Support capital equipment planning, justification, vendor selection, procurement, installation, and qualification activities. Improve systems used for collecting, monitoring, and storing manufacturing and product performance data. Provide technical support for supplier quality issues, incoming inspection activities, and supplier corrective actions. Collaborate with customers regarding product requirements, specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and technical concerns. Support environmental, health, safety, facilities, and energy reduction initiatives as needed. What you will bring along: Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering or its equivalent. Three to five years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable. A high level of mechanical aptitude and ability to translate design and process ideas to useable specifications is required. Ability to work independently to develop or manage complex projects. Ability to work effectively as a team member and/or project leader. A high degree of customer service orientation.
