Your day at NTT DATA The Microsoft SQL and cloud database engineer, specialist or architect supports Microsoft SQL Server and cloud-based database services. The role maintains database availability, security, performance, recoverability and operational compliance across hosted, private-cloud and public-cloud environments. Key responsibilities Monitor database availability, performance, capacity and backup status. Resolve incidents involving database services, jobs, connectivity, storage and performance. Install, configure, patch and upgrade SQL Server environments. Administer cloud database services and associated platform configurations. Perform backup, restore and recovery activities. Support high availability, replication and disaster-recovery solutions. Conduct database performance analysis and tuning. Maintain access controls, encryption, auditing and security configurations. Support database migrations and platform-modernization initiatives. Automate recurring administration, monitoring and reporting activities. Contribute to lifecycle planning and technical documentation. At L5, define database architecture, modernization patterns and cloud-adoption standards. Technical knowledge Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server Always On and related high-availability technologies. Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance. Cloud database monitoring and management.
