THE BUSINESS We are Everyday Luxury™. It's what we do and how we do it — together. It's working alongside world-class talent in pursuit of world-class results. It's maximizing your potential in a high-performance culture. It's knowing that wherever you are, you belong. It's elevating your world — and the world of those who love and will love Aritzia. It's You. And an endless runway of opportunity. With a Global Support Campus in Vancouver and additional Support Office hubs in major cities across North America — including Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and Seattle — our workplace network is strategically designed to support our People and serve our Clients a frictionless experience. So, you can do what you do best — with us.   THE TEAM The mission of the Data Governance department is to enable the governance of data across the enterprise. THE OPPORTUNITY Aritzia is growing and our Data Governance team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for defining and shaping the future of Aritzia’s data architecture. As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will lead the strategic standards definition, and governance of Aritzia’s enterprise data architecture. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Governance (with a matrix link to Global Architecture), you will not be building pipelines in isolation; instead, you will define the architectural guardrails, canonical models, and semantic standards that empower our engineering squads, analytics teams, and business domains to build trusted, scalable data capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in establishing architecture reviews, driving AI-ready data literacy, and ensuring enterprise-wide data interoperability across our modern tech stack. With your valuable contribution to the business in this role, the opportunities are endless — from a rewarding career in data to continued growth with Aritzia. THE ROLE As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will: Translate business priorities into enterprise data architecture strategies, multi-year target-state data roadmaps, and federated data product standards. Establish enterprise data standards for canonical models, shared vocabularies, reference data mappings, data flow diagrams, and business glossaries. Oversee the central repository of data model system architectures, semantic artifacts, reference patterns, and reusable assets; driving accountability across authoring teams (Solution Delivery, Data & Analytics, Global Architecture) to maintain compliant, accessible, and up-to-date documentation. Represent Data Governance in formal Architecture Review Boards to evaluate proposed solutions for data target-state alignment. Drive architecture governance by leading standards development, architectural reviews, reusable patterns, and best practices that improve consistency, quality, security, and scalability in partnership with Analytics Engineering Excellence. Global Architecture and Engineering Enablement teams. Assess and mature enterprise data and governance capabilities through benchmarking, capability assessments, and target-state roadmaps. Enable technical & business teams by promoting data literacy across the enterprise through teaching, coaching, and leading tailored Communities of Practice (COP) sessions. THE QUALIFICATIONS The Enterprise Data Architect has: Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or equivalent experience; Master's preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience across enterprise data, analytics, data platforms, enterprise architecture, or data engineering leadership, including significant experience in principal or lead architecture roles. Deep expertise defining enterprise data strategy, target-state architecture, standards, reference architectures, and multi-year roadmaps across complex, multi-domain environments. Hands-on architecture experience with modern public cloud data ecosystems across GCP, AWS, or Azure, and platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent. Strong experience architecting lakehouse, warehouse, streaming, orchestration, semantic, BI, and ML/AI consumption patterns with a focus on scalability, reliability, governance, observability, and cost-to-serve. Strong information architecture and data modeling experience across conceptual, logical, and physical layers, including canonical models, semantic layers, metrics layers, dimensional modeling, data contracts, and domain data products. Proven experience establishing enterprise data governance capabilities, including ownership, stewardship, metadata, glossary, catalog, lineage, quality, classification, privacy, retention, and lifecycle management. Experience building or enabling federated data product operating models, Data Mesh principles, domain ownership, reusable data templates, automation, standards, and platform paved roads. Experience with data catalog, governance, lineage, MDM, observability, and quality tools such as dbt, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Denodo, cloud-native governance services, or equivalent. Knowledge in data integration and engineering patterns including batch, streaming, CDC, APIs, event-driven architecture, Kafka or cloud-native messaging, pipeline orchestration, and ELT/ETL. Experience enabling AI-ready data foundations for governed reporting, analytics, machine learning, GenAI, semantic search, knowledge representation, and emerging agentic use cases. Experience partnering across Digital, Retail, Product, Supply Chain, Corporate, Finance, Customer, ESG, or similarly complex consumer domains strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence VP and C-level stakeholders through clarity of technical thought, balanced trade-off analysis, business-aligned recommendations, and executive-ready storytelling.
