Purpose of role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager & Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to lead the compliance and financial crime framework for our Irish Trust and Company Service Provider (TCSP) business, while also providing compliance oversight and support to a UK FCA-regulated entity.

This is a highly visible and influential role, offering direct exposure to Boards, senior leadership and complex international client structures. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping compliance strategy, managing financial crime risk and supporting regulatory change across both Irish and UK operations.

Key Responsibilities

As Compliance Manager & MLRO, you will:

  • Act as the designated MLRO for the Irish business and oversee all AML and financial crime matters.
  • Lead and maintain the compliance and financial crime framework, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Provide ongoing compliance advice and support to the UK FCA-regulated entity.
  • Support the development and delivery of the UK risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, control testing and follow-up of findings.
  • Monitor UK regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business, products, services, policies and controls.
  • Support the implementation of UK regulatory change and contribute to compliance-led projects and business transformation initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports and management information for the UK Board and relevant governance committees.
  • Support the maintenance and periodic review of UK compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments and regulatory registers.
  • Develop and deliver risk-based compliance monitoring programmes across the Irish and UK businesses.
  • Provide expert regulatory advice to senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Oversee client due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening and ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Review and advise on higher-risk client relationships, including complex ownership structures and politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • Prepare and present compliance, AML and regulatory reports to Boards and governance committees.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, remediation programmes and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Deliver compliance and AML training and promote a strong culture of governance and accountability.
  • Build effective relationships with regulators, senior management and wider risk and compliance teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We're interested in speaking with experienced compliance professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience within Compliance, AML, Financial Crime or Risk Management in a regulated environment.
  • Previous experience as an MLRO, Deputy MLRO, Compliance Officer or a similar senior compliance role.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish, UK and EU AML, CTF and sanctions regulations.
  • Experience within financial services, corporate services, fiduciary services or other regulated sectors.
  • A solid understanding of compliance monitoring, regulatory change and financial crime frameworks.
  • Experience reviewing complex corporate, trust and ownership structures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A recognised Compliance or AML qualification (ACOI, ICA, CAMS or equivalent) would be advantageous.
