Design Engineer Manager, Element Coach - LEGO® DESiGN.

ENGINEERING
Job Description Just imagine helping talented teams bring innovative LEGO® bricks to life while strengthening the LEGO Building System for future generations of builders. Then make it real. About the role As our Design Engineer Manager, Element Coach, you'll help people, ideas and product development come together to create high-quality LEGO® bricks that inspire great play experiences. Through coaching, partnership and technical guidance, you'll support teams in making informed decisions while helping maintain the quality, compatibility and play value that make the LEGO Building System unique. You'll join System & Material Governance, where the focus is on championing the LEGO building system across DUPLO, LEGO and Technic, governing platform and system architecture, and maintaining the foundations that support the System-in-Play philosophy. You'll work at the intersection of product development and Operations, strengthening Design for Manufacturing while supporting sustainability initiatives across both areas. Required Qualifications Solid experience in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline, combined with experience in product development, such as Coaching, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Model Design. Guided complex product-development initiatives from early ideation through implementation, helping teams establish standards, guidelines, governance frameworks, and ways of working. Partnered with and coached cross-functional teams across Design and Engineering, helping build alignment, strengthen standards and enable successful outcomes. Applied quantitative analysis, mathematics, data analytics, and systems thinking to evaluate product-development decisions, governance outcomes, and product integrity. Preferred Qualifications Improved governance processes, development frameworks, or operating models to increase efficiency and consistency across product-development projects. Delivered process improvements that balanced business needs, product integrity, and end-user experience. Coached cross-functional product-development teams to apply governance, quality, and development standards consistently across multiple initiatives. What you'll build Stronger governance across product development activities. Greater alignment between product development and Operations. Practical approaches to Design for Manufacturing. Consistent application of building-system requirements and standards. Improved quality, compliance and product integrity across development projects. Sustainable ways of working that support future innovation. If you've worked in a role where you coached product development teams to improve product quality, you'll feel at home here. If you've applied a defined building-system or product-governance framework during product development and worked across both people and processes to safeguard product quality, you'll be well prepared for the role. What matters most is your ability to combine technical judgement, coaching and clear communication. Life on the team You'll be part of a team dedicated to protecting and evolving the LEGO building system. The work is collaborative and knowledge-rich, with plenty of opportunities to coach teams, facilitate workshops and share expertise across functions. Together, the team helps colleagues navigate complex decisions while balancing innovation, quality and long-term system value. What success looks like You'll become a trusted coach and partner for product teams, helping them navigate complex decisions. You'll confidently balance creativity and innovation with building-system integrity, support multiple development projects at the same time, and turn complex governance requirements into practical actions. You'll work closely with Design and Engineering to strengthen governance and support the future development of the LEGO building system. #LI-CS1 Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
