We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Cafe Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy onsite café.
About the Role
This is a practical leadership position where you'll be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the café while leading and mentoring a small team. During peak trading periods, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays, you'll be front and centre ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth operational delivery.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support café operations, ensuring outstanding customer service
- Manage and monitor food and beverage budgets
- Control labour costs and optimise staffing levels
- Prepare and manage team rosters
- Recruit, train and develop team members
- Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and supplier relationships
- Drive profitability while maintaining quality and guest satisfaction
What You'll Bring
You are a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading from the front.
You'll bring:
- Previous experience managing a café, restaurant or similar hospitality venue
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing budgets, labour costs and stock control
- Excellent rostering and workforce planning capabilities
- A customer-first mindset and passion for creating great guest experiences
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays and peak trading periods
Essential Requirements
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and/or Food Handling Certificate
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Full Australian Working Rights
