What You Will Do Drive mechanical quality planning activities across all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring robust design and manufacturing processes from concept through production launch. Conduct detailed mechanical design reviews of CAD models, drawings, specifications, tolerances, materials, interfaces, and engineering changes (ECNs) to identify and mitigate product quality risks. Assess dimensional and tolerance-related risks, including drawing requirements, tolerance stack-ups, fit/function, measurement feasibility, and capability considerations. Perform design-for-manufacturability (DFM) assessments for mechanical parts (metal, plastic, and seal components, including machining, welding, injection molding, fabrication, and related manufacturing processes). Lead and support APQP deliverables, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and PPAP activities, ensuring mechanical design risks are effectively translated into manufacturing controls. Strong systems-level technical thinking across product design, component interfaces, and manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements. Strong project management, prioritization, and execution abilities. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence technical decisions. Clear and effective verbal and written communication. Structured risk identification, technical problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. High ownership, accountability, attention to detail and discipline.
