Employment Status: Full Time or Part Time Seasonal Wage Range: $14.00 hour plus tips Minimum Age: 16 Background Check Required: No Driver Verification Required: No Position Summary: The Host is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting and seating them in a friendly and efficient manner. They manage reservations, waitlists, and coordinate seating flow to ensure smooth restaurant operations and a positive guest experience. Additionally they support the dining room team by clearing and resetting tables, refilling water, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant. They help ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests. Must be available nights and weekends. The typical shift is 10:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-9:00pm. Position begins in late November and will end in April. Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities: Manage Guest Flow: Professionally and calmly maintain a steady flow of seating, greet all guests warmly, and provide accurate wait times while offering beverages during the wait. Seat Guests Thoughtfully: Seat guests based on their preferences, server workload, and seating capacity; distribute menus and provide booster seats or highchairs as needed. Communicate with Team: Quickly inform servers of guest seating and relay any special requests to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Support Guest Experience: Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return; assist with water service and soda refills throughout their visit. Assist with Restaurant Operations: Clean and reset tables, help servers with side work, and perform additional tasks to support the overall flow and cleanliness of the restaurant. Specific Job Skills: License/Certifications- None Technical- Basic computer skills required Physical Capabilities- Able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Additional- Strong attention to detail. Must be capable of managing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Education/Related Experience: Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication; plus basic math.
