We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database & Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Belfast, supporting mission-critical Oracle environments for enterprise and government customers. This role is ideal for a skilled Oracle professional with expertise across Oracle Database Administration, SQL and PL/SQL development, performance tuning, high availability, backup and recovery, and the infrastructure supporting Oracle platforms. You will play a key role in maintaining, optimising and evolving complex Oracle environments while contributing to technical best practices and supporting the wider team. What You'll Be Doing As an Oracle Database & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, support, optimisation and continuous improvement of Oracle platforms and their supporting infrastructure, including: Oracle Database Administration and support SQL and PL/SQL development Oracle performance tuning and optimisation Backup, recovery and disaster recovery management Oracle patching, upgrades and migrations Supporting Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard environments Linux server administration and support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration Infrastructure automation and scripting Platform monitoring, availability and capacity management Incident investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis Supporting operational and project-based delivery activities Contributing to technical standards, documentation and best practices Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience administering Oracle Database environments Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills Experience with Oracle performance tuning and query optimisation Experience with Oracle backup and recovery solutions Knowledge of Oracle High Availability technologies such as RAC and Data Guard Experience performing Oracle patching, upgrades and migrations Strong Linux administration experience Experience supporting critical production environments Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Desirable Skills Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Oracle Enterprise Manager Oracle Exadata Oracle GoldenGate Oracle WebLogic AWS or Microsoft Azure Python, Bash, PowerShell or Ansible DevOps and CI/CD practices Infrastructure automation ITIL-based service environments Oracle certifications (OCP or equivalent) About You You'll be someone who: Has a genuine passion for Oracle technologies and database engineering Takes ownership of technical problems and drives them through to resolution Enjoys working in complex technical environments Has a methodical and analytical approach to problem solving Can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Is collaborative, proactive and customer-focused Maintains high standards of quality and attention to detail Is committed to continuous professional development and learning What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Company pension scheme Private medical insurance and wellbeing support Professional training and certification opportunities Career progression across Oracle, Infrastructure and Cloud technologies Access to enterprise-scale environments and technologies Employee recognition programmes Team events and social activities Supportive and collaborative working environment Interested?
