We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our supportive team at Lumino Nelson on a casual basis.
This is a varied role where you'll support our clinicians chairside while also assisting at reception when needed. It's an excellent opportunity to develop your dental industry skills while working in a welcoming and professional environment.
As a Dental Assistant, you will:
- Assist clinicians during a range of dental procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised clinical environment.
- Manage instrument sterilisation and infection control processes.
- Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies.
- Support the team to ensure a seamless patient experience.
As a Receptionist, you will:
- Be the welcoming face and voice of the practice.
- Manage patient enquiries both in person and over the phone.
- Coordinate appointments and booking schedules.
- Process payments and complete general administrative tasks.
- Help create an exceptional experience for every patient who visits the practice.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Previous Dental Assistant experience preferred, although training can be provided for the right person.
- Experience in sterilisation, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing environment would be advantageous.
- A friendly, positive, and team-focused attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for helping people and delivering great customer service.
- The flexibility to work casual shifts as required.
- Valid New Zealand working rights.
- You must live in Nelson or the surrounding area and be able to reliably commute to the practice when required.
