Success Academy Charter Schools

Bronx

College Access & Preparedness Associate.

Thanks for your interest in Success Academy! Running a large, fast-growing, and high-performing network of public charter schools takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates, and supporters alike. We are growing fast in New York and expanding to Florida, and we would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure children have access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through our doors a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.

Within this mission, the College Access & Preparedness (CAP) team ensures that every scholar is not only admitted and attends the best fit, most affordable, 4-year college/university, but will thrive in their new environment. For the past eight years, Success Academy has achieved 100% college acceptance to four-year institutions, with 75% of our graduates accepted to Selective colleges, and Highly Selective colleges. As we rapidly scale to serve more high schools and graduating classes, CAP must operate within disciplined execution, strong data systems, and AI-enabled processes that ensure accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across all workstreams.

We are hiring CAP Associates to operate within our new disciplined, system-driven model that leverages digital tools and dashboards to ensure strong outcomes, efficiency, and scale.

About the Role

CAP Associates are high‑expectation instructors, coaches and operators responsible for ensuring scholars complete the college application and enrollment process with excellence. CAP Associates teach multiple daily class sections, lead scholars through a sequenced set of deliverables, and uphold a rigorous standard for quality, professionalism, and on‑time execution.

CAP Associates are a part of a dual-accountability structure, reporting directly to the Leader of School-Based CAP Management, with a dotted line to School-Based Leaders. CAP Associates will adhere to school-based policies and procedures and participate fully in school-based routines, including classroom observations.

This role requires strong classroom leadership, exceptional operational organization, mature judgment, and the ability to manage a fast‑moving, high‑volume workflow. CAP Associates use the CAP Portal, dashboards, and AI‑enabled tools to track progress, support writing and planning, and maintain precision across all scholar deliverables. They work closely with School-Based Leaders and CAP Leadership to ensure alignment, accountability, and consistent execution across the school.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Classroom Leadership

  • Deliver structured lessons that guide scholars through the college application, essay, and enrollment process.
  • Maintain instructional quality and clarity across all sections.

  • Manage a high‑volume workflow with accuracy, urgency, and strong follow‑through.
  • Track all deliverables and milestones in real time using dashboards and the CAP Portal.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and trends early — and take immediate action to keep scholars on track.
  • Maintain impeccable attention to detail across all documents, communications, and data.

Professionalism & Continuous Improvement

  • Demonstrate maturity, sound judgment, and a strong professional presence in all interactions.
  • Participate in teachbacks and implement feedback promptly.
  • Demonstrate strong change-management readiness by adopting new systems, tools, and expectations quickly.
  • Participate fully in school‑based routines, meetings, and professional development.
  • Contribute to a strong adult culture rooted in accountability, urgency, and high standards.
  • Share insights and effective practices to strengthen consistency and results across the CAP program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2–3 years of experience in teaching, youth development, or other scholar‑facing roles.

  • Proven ability to give direct, actionable feedback and hold students to high expectations.
  • Exceptionally organized operator with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously and stay ahead of deadlines.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficiency using dashboards, portals, and AI-enabled tools to drive accuracy, efficiency, and scale in writing, planning, and workflow management; proven ability to quickly adopt new systems.
