Role: Consultant Geriatrician

Salary: Circa £105,000 - £140,000

Your role will largely be based at the new site offering the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment which will allow you fulfil your potential.

What we need from you:
- MRCP Qualified
- Entry on the Specialist Register in General and Geriatric Medicine (or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview)
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Geriatric Medicine
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies
- Ability to work well with colleagues and within a team
- Ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives
- Ability to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision-making
- The ability to appraise junior doctors and other staff
Your duties will include:
- To collaborate and work to maintain Older Adult and General Medical services in line with strategic requirement
- To provide a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties in the Trust
- To take responsibility for the professional supervision and appraisal of post graduate doctors, in conjunction with colleagues
- To liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities in the Trust
- To contribute to the development of Older Adult services, treatment guidelines and the promotion of greater knowledge of the management of older persons conditions in primary care
- To demonstrate a firm commitment to the principles of clinical governance
