  • Perform routine and milestone inspections of fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, underground fire mains, and related components.
  • Verify installations comply with approved shop drawings, NFPA standards, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Identify non-conforming work, document deficiencies, and track corrective actions through resolution.
  • Ensure proper materials, methods, and workmanship are used throughout installation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed inspection records, daily reports, and photographic documentation.
  • Support preparation of inspection reports, deficiency lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with test documentation, including hydrostatic tests, flushes, and acceptance testing.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with installation crews, subcontractors, project managers, and engineers to resolve field issues.
  • Interface with AHJs, third-party inspectors, and client representatives during inspections and acceptance testing.
  • Communicate schedule impacts, quality concerns, and field observations clearly and professionally.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce jobsite safety policies and ensure inspections are conducted in compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions related to fire protection work and escalate as necessary.
  • Support company and site-specific quality and safety programs.

Project Support

  • Assist with constructability reviews and field verification prior to inspections.
  • Participate in punch list development and system turnover activities.
  • Provide technical input to project teams based on field observations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in inspection, installation, or quality control within commercial or industrial construction environments.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, inspection/reporting tools).
  • Ability to work full-time on an active construction site.

Preferred

  • NICET certification (any level) in Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
  • Experience on large manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Prior experience interacting with AHJs and third-party inspectors.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
