In this position, you and your team will work with investment teams to create analytics that generate actionable insights. You will leverage your knowledge of investment analytics and data science to improve affiliates’ investment processes. You will contribute across the full analytics delivery lifecycle, with a focus on analytics design and development. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-impact, high-skill team whose scope and impact continue to grow.

What You Will Do

  • Create analytics that generate investment insights and improve affiliate investment manager effectiveness.
  • Build a deep understanding of affiliate investment strategies and workflows.
  • Proactively research and propose new analytic methodologies; identify opportunities to enhance decision-making and expand our analytics offering. Serve as a thought leader in investment analytics.
  • Collaborate with investment managers and senior leadership to iterate on proofs of concept.
  • Partner with the Platform and Methodology Team to productionalize and scale these analytics.
  • Leverage financial datasets and tools to create and enrich analytics. Current analytics include performance, attribution, portfolio risk and exposure, machine learning stock screeners, hypothetical scenario analysis, competitor analysis, liquidity risk, trade monitoring, ESG scoring frameworks, fee analysis, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues using your strong understanding of analytics methodologies.
  • Explain business logic and technical concepts clearly, adjusting your communication style for a given audience.
  • Apply AI where it adds value, such as in financial modelling, anomaly detection, and natural-language database querying.
  • Lead and develop a team of analysts across Canada and India. Help the team solve complex problems, set priorities, resolve roadblocks, and deliver high-quality analytics.
  • Proactively engage and develop trusting relationships with portfolio managers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support senior management in shaping team direction and advancing strategic priorities.

What You Bring

  • An undergraduate degree in finance, data science, or a quantitative field. Completion of a relevant designation, such as the CFA or FRM, is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience and deep knowledge in investment analytics, investment management, or data science. You are a systems thinker and take ownership of your work.
  • 3+ years of direct experience leading a performance, analytics, investment, or asset management team. You can motivate, mentor, and manage team performance.
  • You have practical experience with the tools and systems used in modern analytics pipelines. Experience with Python, SQL, AI programming assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot), automation and scheduling platforms (e.g. VisualCron, Prefect), data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Microsoft Fabric), and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) is an asset. Experience developing AI solutions is an asset.
  • Passionate about technology and are committed to continuous learning. You apply and integrate emerging technologies where they add value. You bring the “art of the possible” to solution design.
  • Strong problem solver who can identify patterns, generate insights, and approach ambiguous problems with structure and creativity.
  • You communicate complex concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing. You build alignment across stakeholders at all levels, navigate differing perspectives effectively, and foster collaboration to achieve shared organizational goals.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate process risks, and escalate issues proactively when needed.
  • You can use judgement to make timely, sound decisions under ambiguity. You are self-directed, proactive, and comfortable proposing solutions.

The expected base salary range for this position is $130,000–$180,000. The midpoint represents our general market target for a fully qualified and experienced individual performing the role. Actual starting salary may fall below or above the midpoint depending on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations.
