The position plays a critical role in ensuring high-fidelity simulation environments that support pilot training, academic instruction, and research initiatives. Qualified candidates must have documented experience supporting Level D Full Flight Simulators with strong emphasis on legacy Flight Safety International (FSI) systems equipped with hydraulic control loading and motion. The Flight Simulation Engineer oversees the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of flight simulation systems and associated network infrastructure. The engineer also supports the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) network and contributes to simulator acquisition, relocation, and integration projects. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Flight Simulation Engineer provides mentoring, training, tasking, and technical guidance to full-time, part-time, and student technical staff. The position assists with workforce development, recruitment, scheduling, performance support, and knowledge transfer to ensure a highly skilled simulation support team.
