The municipality of Zermatt has around 6,000 residents. It is the largest tourism municipality in the Alpine region. Around 170 people ensure extensive public services. The Department of Civil Engineering designs and secures the infrastructure of Zermatt for today and future generations. In addition to planning, implementing, and maintaining roads, bridges, and utility lines, it is responsible for demanding projects in flood protection, development, as well as the renovation and new construction of structures. The management of protective structures and geographic information systems complements the diverse range of activities. In the Department of Civil Engineering, two full-time positions are to be filled.
