You will be part of Mobileye's REM (Road Experience Management) department, which is responsible for the automated creation of High-Definition (HD) maps, a key technology powering Mobileye's autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The map-building process involves executing advanced algorithms and processing massive amounts of data in parallel. This requires sophisticated distributed systems, Big Data technologies, and a deep understanding of both the map creation process and its underlying infrastructure.
Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining the core frameworks and infrastructure that enable large-scale, parallel execution of map-building jobs. We design and build scalable, reliable, and efficient platforms that orchestrate, execute, and monitor thousands of computational jobs, supporting both production and development environments.
Our infrastructure serves as the backbone of the map creation process, with a strong emphasis on scalability, performance, reliability, observability, and advanced debugging capabilities for both map data and algorithmic code.
This role is best suited for engineers with strong system-level thinking, a can-do approach, and a hands-on mindset, with the ability to design, build, and optimize complex systems operating at scale.
What will your job look like?
- Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services and frameworks that power Mobileye's large-scale HD map creation platform.
- Optimize systems and code across multiple layers - from architecture to implementation.
- Take ownership of REM's workflow management platform, including its core Python framework, backend services, and APIs, enabling rapid development and reliable execution of computational jobs at production scale.
- Develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions for distributed computing and large-scale data processing.
- Continuously improve system architecture, performance, stability, and observability to meet evolving production and development needs.
- Collaborate with engineers, algorithm developers, and stakeholders across the department to design and deliver infrastructure solutions.
All you need is:
- B.Sc. from University - Computer Science/Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Cloud Services.
- Experience in distributed systems (Spark - advantage).
- Experience with databases.
- Experience working with Redis, Kafka.
