Key Responsibilities
Wallester is seeking an experienced AML Investigations Team Lead to take full ownership of our transaction monitoring and screening operational flows. In this critical role, you will direct the daily activities of the AML Investigations Team, ensuring high-quality output through rigorous quality assurance, effective task allocation, and hands-on mentorship. Beyond day-to-day team management, you will serve as the operational anchor for our AML infrastructure, working closely with Product and Compliance teams to maintain and develop our monitoring and screening tools. You will act as the ultimate escalation point for complex investigations, assess high-risk business customer activities, and foster strong, collaborative relationships with CRM, customer-facing units, and White-Label Partners to ensure seamless and compliant operations across the board.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the AML Investigations Team, which includes allocating tasks, reviewing performance, conducting quality assurance checks, and delivering ongoing training.
- Take full ownership of transaction monitoring and screening operational flows, alongside drafting and maintaining the specific procedural manuals related to these processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Compliance, and other departments to maintain and continuously develop the company’s monitoring and screening solutions.
- Handle complex alert escalations from within the AML Investigations Team that require seasoned, experienced input and guidance.
- Perform the final assessment and transactional analysis of activity for Medium-risk and High-risk Business customers.
- Ensure all daily team operations strictly adhere to internal regulations and policies, while actively assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of broader AML systems, procedures, and manuals.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with CRM and other customer-facing units to ensure leads and risk-related operational tasks are handled efficiently and on time.
- Manage ongoing communication and operational alignment with Wallester’s White-Label Partners.
- Report regularly to the Head of the AML Department on team performance, operational health, and workflow status.
- Execute additional ad-hoc duties and projects originating from the Head of the AML Department.
Requirements
- At least 5-years of experience in AML/CTF/Sanctions prevention area.
- At least 2-years of experience managing a small-medium sized team or acting as functional owner of a specific process.
- Familiarity with the Estonian AML/CTF/Sanctions area regulatory framework, including the MLTFPA, ISA and regulatory guidelines.
- Must be proficient in English, both in written and spoken. Estonian on speaking level is great bonus.
