Energy Saving Trust

Edinburgh

Finance Business Partner.

FULL TIMEFINANCE & LEGAL

Up to £58,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Fixed term until 31 July 2027. Full time (37.5 hours a week)

The role

As Finance Business Partner, you will provide trusted financial support, insight and strategic input across the organisation. You will translate complex financial information into clear, meaningful advice, helping budget holders and senior stakeholders understand performance, manage resources and assess the financial implications of business decisions.

The team

You will join our Finance, Risk and Compliance team, which supports the organisation to manage funds responsibly, strengthen financial controls and make informed decisions. The team plays an important role in helping Energy Saving Trust deliver trusted services and programmes that support people, communities and organisations to reduce carbon emissions.

What you will do

  • Partner with heads of department, programme managers, project managers and other stakeholders to support business, strategic and operational planning.

  • Analyse monthly financial performance and explain key findings, risks and opportunities to non-finance colleagues.

  • Support forecasting, budgeting and trend analysis, ensuring financial information is prepared in line with relevant accounting standards.

  • Coach budget holders and project managers, building financial confidence, capability and accountability.

  • Provide financial analysis and advice for organisational projects, bid submissions and income-generation activity.

  • Use reporting and financial modelling to add value to decisions and help improve business performance.

What you will bring

  • Proven finance business partnering experience in a large, complex organisation.

  • Strong financial reporting and modelling skills, with a track record of turning data into useful management insight.

  • Experience preparing management information packs and clear supporting commentary to tight deadlines.

  • The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to colleagues at different levels of seniority.

  • A proactive and flexible approach, with resilience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Experience of working with a range of financial systems and a recognised accountancy qualification would be an advantage.
