🏡 Where you'll fit in
Kraken is looking for an experienced and strategic Head of People Business Partnering to help lead our People BP function. You'll sit within the wider People Capability team, reporting into the Chief People Officer and Chief of Staff, playing a pivotal role in connecting our people strategy to the day-to-day experience of our business.
You'll lead a team of four - a People Business Partner Lead and People Business Partners - spanning the UK and APAC. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, global technology business, brings strong commercial instincts, and knows how to build trusted relationships within the team, and at every level of the organisation.
🚀 What you'll own
Lead, develop, and inspire a team of four People BPs globally, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and commercially-minded team culture.
Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders and executive stakeholders, translating business priorities into people plans that drive performance and engagement.
Own the evolving people partnering operating model - setting the standard for how the function delivers across the employee lifecycle; from org design and workforce planning to talent management, employee relations, and offboarding.
Partner closely with the Chief People Officer and Chief of Staff to shape and execute Kraken's people strategy, ensuring it reflects the culture, and the needs of a rapidly growing and changing global business.
Coach, advise, and collaborate on complex, sensitive, and high-profile ER matters, bringing sound judgement, clear process, and a fair and empathetic approach.
Drive organisational effectiveness initiatives including restructures, role design, capability building, and team design, partnering cross-functionally to ensure execution is smooth and thoughtful.
Champion data-led people practices - using workforce insights and people analytics to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
Represent the People BP function in leadership forums, contributing to the broader People Capability agenda and influencing how we attract, develop, and retain talent globally.
Support Kraken's international growth by providing people partnering expertise as we enter new markets and scale existing ones.
Build strong relationships with COE partners (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, L&D, and People Operations) to ensure a consistent people experience developed with our culture in mind.
🧠 What you bring to the party
Significant experience in senior People Business Partnering or HR leadership roles (10 years), ideally within a fast-growing technology or global organisation.
Proven track record of leading and developing a team of People BPs, with the ability to coach, delegate, and agree clear direction.
A credible and confident communicator with demonstrated experience influencing C-suite and senior business stakeholders.
Deep understanding of the full people partner toolkit - org design, workforce planning, talent management, succession, and complex ER.
Data-literate with the ability to use people insights to shape strategy and tell compelling stories to stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen; you understand how people decisions drive business outcomes and can connect the dots between the two.
Experience operating across multiple geographies and time zones, with an understanding of employment frameworks in the UK, Europe, and ideally APAC.
Ability to operate with pace and pragmatism in an ambiguous, high-growth environment while maintaining rigour and quality in delivery.
Collaborative by nature - you build bridges across teams and bring people with you, rather than working in silos.
⭐️ Bonus points
Experience in the energy, utilities, or climate tech sector.
Exposure to scaling teams and organisations through rapid growth phases.
Experience supporting international expansion, including standing up people partnering capability in new markets.
Familiarity with employment law landscapes beyond the UK, Europe, and APAC.
Experience working closely with a Chief People Officer and/or Chief of Staff in a global business.
