About the Role

As a Senior Laboratory Engineer within Quality Control, you will act as a technical expert in validation and qualification across the QC department. You will lead major change controls, improvement initiatives, and complex deviations, while supporting colleagues in quality-related activities and routine QC testing.

The role also includes delivering internal GMP training, providing technical guidance, and contributing to the continued development of QC processes and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within QC, with focus on microbiological methods, validation, qualification, and laboratory equipment.
  • Lead deviations, OOS/OOT investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and risk assessments.
  • Own and maintain the QC Validation Master Plan (VMP) and ensure compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Lead periodic reviews and lifecycle activities for QC instruments, including qualification, calibration, and inventory.
  • Provide expertise within microbiological QC, environmental monitoring, and release testing.
  • Support troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and method validation/verification.
  • Coach and train colleagues within QC.
  • Represent QC during regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Perform and review analyses according to approved methods and procedures when required.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, or another relevant scientific field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within QC in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or life-science environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience within microbiological testing and/or environmental monitoring.
  • Experience with method validation, instrument qualification, deviations, CAPA, change control, and investigations.
  • Experience participating in regulatory inspections or audits.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead technical activities and coach colleagues.
  • Excellent Swedish and English, spoken and written.

Who We Are Looking For

You are an experienced and quality-focused QC professional who takes ownership, works in a structured way, and enjoys solving complex technical issues. You are collaborative, confident in sharing your expertise, and comfortable supporting and coaching colleagues.
