What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
As a Plumbing Designer, you'll play an important role in our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team, contributing to the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, educational, municipal, industrial, and institutional projects. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and designers, helping develop coordinated building system designs that improve functionality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Your Responsibilities
- Develop plumbing and fire protection system layouts and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Assist with plumbing fixture counts, pipe sizing, and other design calculations.
- Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and civil disciplines.
- Support the preparation of project specifications, reports, and other technical documentation.
- Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams and clients.
- Assist with construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site visits.
- Apply plumbing codes, building codes, and OHM design standards throughout the design process.
- Continue developing technical knowledge through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience.
Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, construction technology, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering or engineering technology discipline is preferred.
- 0–3 years of experience in plumbing, MEP, building systems design, drafting (internship, co-op, vocational, or professional experience is welcomed).
- Experience with Revit is required. AutoCAD, Bluebeam or other CAD/BIM software, is a plus
- Basic understanding of plumbing systems, construction drawings, or building design principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary project teams.
- A desire to learn, grow, and build a career in MEP design.
