ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Regional Accountant to support financial operations across Singapore and Vietnam. This is a fully remote independent contractor engagement open to candidates based in the China, Philippines, Indonesia, or Malaysia.

The role is focused on high-quality financial execution, including maintaining accurate books in QuickBooks Online (QBO), mapping financial data prepared by local accounting partners, completing reconciliations and foreign currency translations, and preparing information for group-level reporting and consolidation.

You will report to the Financial Lead, who retains responsibility for strategic finance decisions, high-level compliance, and final audit sign-offs. This opportunity is best suited to an experienced accountant who enjoys hands-on work, multi-entity accounting, and independently managing recurring deliverables.

ENGAGEMENT, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

  • Engagement type: Independent contractor.
  • Location: Fully remote. Applicants must be based in the Philippines, Indonesia, or Malaysia. Some on-site work might be done for applicants based in Shanghai.
  • Rate: USD 15.00 per hour, based on actual approved working hours recorded through monthly timesheets.
  • Schedule: Flexible, with workload concentrated around month-end close, statutory filing deadlines, and annual audit requirements.
  • Collaboration hours: The contractor must be able to maintain reliable overlap with the Financial Lead during Singapore/Shanghai business hours, generally within 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shanghai/Singapore time when work is scheduled.

Work Hours:

  • Standard months (-9 months/year; January - March & July - December): Approximately 40 to 80 hours per month. Capped at 80 hours/month.
  • Audit period (-3 months/year; April to June): Full-time dedicated capacity. 8 hours per workday capped at 160 hours/month.
  • Any hours exceeding the monthly ceiling require prior written approval from the Financial Lead.

Availability and focus requirement: This engagement requires the contractor's full professional attention during agreed working hours. Contractors may have other clients or projects, provided those commitments do not overlap with scheduled NEX work. This role is not intended to be performed as a side job alongside another full-time position.
