Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections of welding activities related to hot tap operations in accordance with project specifications and standards.
- Review and understand project documents, including welding procedures, inspection plans, and quality plans.
- Compile and maintain records of inspections, tests, and results, ensuring compliance with Aramco's quality assurance requirements.
- Work closely with project engineering and construction teams to identify potential quality issues and provide solutions.
- Participate in pre-welding briefings and communicate the importance of quality expectations to all personnel involved in the welding process.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety standards during all welding activities.
- Conduct regular audits of welding processes and report findings to the QA/QC Manager.
- Assist in the development and improvement of welding procedures and quality control protocols.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation for approval and maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Welding QC Engineer, specifically with hot tap operations.
- Valid Aramco approval or certification as a Welding QC Engineer is required.
- Thorough understanding of welding codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.) and experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Familiarity with Aramco's quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and certifications is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
