Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cranes and forklifts to lift, transport, load, and position equipment, supplies, and materials around the rig site. Ensures all lifting and material-handling activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cranes and forklifts to move equipment, materials, and supplies safely within the rig site
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes, forklifts, and lifting accessories
- Follow approved lifting plans, load charts, and rigging signals
- Ensure proper securing, lifting, and placement of loads
- Maintain clear communication with riggers, signalmen, and supervisors
- Comply with all site safety rules, permits, and SOPs
- Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately
- Maintain basic operation logs and inspection records
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Crane Operator and/or Forklift Operator certification/license
- Proven experience operating cranes and forklifts in industrial or rig environments
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and load limits
- Ability to follow hand signals and radio communication
- Physically fit to work in site and rig conditions
