Role Summary:
Experienced hands-on Associate Technical Lead (ATL)/(SSE) – Oracle APEX – required for a Mumbai-based team working for a UK organisation.
The team is tasked with delivering new projects driven by customer requirements, AI-backed enhancements and modernisation of existing applications and products, alongside general support and maintenance within an Agile Scrum methodology.
The ATL – Oracle APEX will be responsible for the design of modules and complex solutions, hands-on development, technical guidance, code quality and unit-testing oversight for modern Oracle APEX enterprise web applications.
This role requires deep expertise in Oracle APEX and supporting web technologies, including PL/SQL, SQL, JavaScript, ORDS and REST.
The role includes evaluating solution options, documenting technical decisions, guiding engineers during implementation and contributing to architectural discussions with the Solution Architect.
Qualification Criteria/Work Experience
Essential:
- 6 to 12 years of overall software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on Oracle APEX development and technical leadership experience.
- Extensive experience in Oracle APEX development on version 4 or above.
- Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming skills, alongside strong knowledge of Oracle Database schemas, objects and data modelling.
- Strong understanding of application security, including Oracle APEX Authentication and Authorization, Session State Protection, secure coding practices and enterprise identity integration such as OAuth 2.0 or OpenID Connect.
- Strong front-end engineering experience including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design and accessibility principles.
- Proven ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable module or complex solution designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ownership of complex technical issues through to conclusion.
- Strong capability in performance diagnosis and tuning using Oracle diagnostic tools such as Explain Plan and Trace.
- Demonstrated experience in design reviews, code reviews, implementation guidance and technical mentoring.
- Experience contributing to architectural decisions and escalating cross-product or strategic decisions appropriately.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to lead constructively within a Scrum team.
