High Wycombe

Senior Neurology Veterinary Nurse.

FULL TIMESENIOR LEVEL

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are looking for a confident RVN to join our team at Hamilton Specialist Referrals as a Senior Neurology Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis.

Hamilton Specialist Referrals was born of the belief that there is room for a new wave of veterinary excellence across the UK. There is a strong focus on providing a personal and reassuring client experience from first contact through to discharge. Excellent clinical care delivered in a friendly and supportive manner to referring vets is paramount to the team. The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is able to offer the most advanced treatment options available for orthopaedic, neurology, soft tissue, and internal medicine cases. We have a dedicated Imaging suite, which includes a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, separate radiography and ultrasound rooms.

Our core ethos here at HSR is based on appreciation of our staff. Curating and developing a friendly, close-knit team is a central part of our working environment. Further qualifications and certificates are encouraged and fully supported as we feel strongly about our employees' right to enjoy work and develop rewarding careers. We have a dedicated team of Specialists, Referral clinicians, RVNs and Support teams.

How You’ll Make a Difference

You will set the standard for excellence within the Neurology Nursing Department, championing high-quality patient care and evidence-based clinical practice. Working closely with the Clinical Team Leader (CTL), you will support the day-to-day leadership, organisation, and development of the nursing team while fostering a positive learning culture through mentoring, coaching, and identifying training needs.

You will coordinate nursing services and workflow across procedure areas, ensuring efficient service delivery, effective resource utilisation, and optimal patient flow. As part of a rota-based clinical role, you will provide hands-on support across neurology, medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, and diagnostic services as required, leading by example to maintain high standards of nursing care and operational efficiency.

In addition, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department, seeking opportunities to enhance patient outcomes, strengthen team performance, and improve operational effectiveness.

Working Pattern

* Full-time position covering 40 hours per week across a rolling 6-week rota
* 4-day working week comprising 4 x 9.25-hour shifts
* 1 in 6 weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday)
* Bank holiday rota, currently averaging 2 shifts per year
* Part-time applications also welcomed

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

* Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
* Significant experience in clinical practice with an interest in neurological cases
* Experience working with complex cases in a referral or advanced-care setting would be advantageous
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
