FULL TIMEREMOTESENIOR LEVELPEOPLE & OPS$90K–146K/YR

About Us:

Wrapbook is the AI platform for production finance. We’re building a system of action that puts finance teams in control of their whole production, from payroll, to spend, to accounting.

Built for feature films, TV, and commercials, Wrapbook is trusted by teams at Netflix, Paramount, Anonymous Content, and more. With backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Jeffrey Katzenberg's WndrCo, our team of 350+ is using AI to transform how finance teams work and empower them to do more with less.

The Opportunity - Senior Union Paymaster I - (Remote - USA)

The Senior Union Paymaster I is responsible for processing and reviewing complex union payrolls on time, accurately, and compliantly, within stated SLA timelines. This role requires advanced fluency with collective bargaining agreements, strong judgment in edge cases, and the ability to serve as a trusted escalation point for payroll complexity.

This individual consistently meets or exceeds productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations while setting a high operational standard for the team. They contribute beyond individual payroll processing by mentoring peers, improving documentation, identifying process gaps, and partnering cross-functionally to reduce repeat issues and strengthen the union payroll operating model.

What you’ll do:

  • Process and review complex union payrolls accurately, compliantly, and within stated processing timelines/SLAs.

  • Interpret and apply complex collective bargaining agreements, side letters, union rules, and working conditions across multiple production types.

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll scenarios, helping team members reason through edge cases while knowing when formal interpretation from Labor Relations or other partners is required.

  • Manually review and validate calculations; identify discrepancies, perform corrections/overrides as needed, and document rationale clearly.

  • Maintain clear, well-documented notes in systems so others can understand payroll status, decision rationale, and next steps.

  • Proactively communicate with customers and internal partners to resolve payroll issues quickly and completely.

  • Build strong working relationships with Labor Relations, Customer Success, Payroll Ops/Tax Ops, Product/Engineering, and other internal teams to resolve issues and reduce repeat work.

  • Mentor and support Union Paymasters by sharing expertise, reviewing complex scenarios, and modeling strong documentation and communication practices.

  • Identify recurring payroll issues, process gaps, or tooling opportunities; recommend and help implement improvements.

  • Create, update, and advocate for SOPs and knowledge documentation that reflect current processes, union rules, and operational learnings.

  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity, accuracy, timeliness, and case-resolution expectations.

What you’ll have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience processing payroll in a multi-union environment.

  • Advanced ability to interpret and apply union rules, working conditions, and collective bargaining agreement provisions in a production payroll context.

  • Strong knowledge of entertainment union contracts preferred (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, Teamsters, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex payroll scenarios and escalate appropriately when formal interpretation is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working under pressure across multiple payrolls, deadlines, and competing priorities.

  • Clear written and verbal communication across multiple channels, including customer-facing and cross-functional communication.

  • Strong documentation discipline, including payroll notes, SOPs, knowledge sharing, and decision rationale.

  • Basic spreadsheet skills (Excel/Sheets) and comfort learning new systems quickly.

  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate workload and client needs.

  • Experience mentoring peers, improving workflows, or raising operational quality standards preferred.

  • Experience operating in a scaling operations environment with evolving tools and processes preferred.
