We are looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office. You will work closely with our Controller and many different teams.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Assist controller team in reconciling all month end reports to the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Design and build Microsoft Excel based pivot tables.
- Assist in reconciling bank accounts on a monthly basis
- Work positive pay exceptions daily
- Process expense report postings daily
- Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis
- Assist controller teams with a variety of ad hoc requests as they arise
- Assist in creating and verifying reporting provided quarterly to various stakeholders
- Work with controllers on various aspects of month end close and the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years' of related experience.
- Public accounting experience a plus.
- General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically needing advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
